Landlords all over the Country are wondering how to proceed now that the CDC has claimed that the previous extension was the last one. Should we believe them?

Their record has been to extend and extend, but maybe this time it’s for real. Maybe this time, it will finally end.

We have a history of over a year with a Moratorium in some form. The CARES Act Moratorium ended last summer, but it was followed up by the CDC Moratorium. Since then, the federal government has pumped Billions of dollars into rent relief, but that money is beginning to run out, and Congress does not appear willing to extend any additional rent relief at this time.

What does this all mean for the state of the Eviction Moratorium?
